We’ll Tetris That For You

While cleaning and junk hauling are the main pillars of our business, we also specialize in organizing! its a fun thing to offer for those who can’t handle their own mess and want someone else to tackle it for them. We love helping people in any way that we can! When this client contacted us we only knew that we were assisting with the organization of a large storage unit. Seemed simple enough. Two of our team members headed out to Mechanicsburg and it was a fun hour from then on! The storage unit doors opened to reveal of mountain of items to climb but that’s what we were there for and our team was ready to tackle it. Then gentleman originally said he could only utilize us two works for two hours (we charge $40 per worker, per hour) and we promised to do the best we could. Funnily enough, we only ended up being there for an hour! But wow, what an hour it was. We discovered he didn’t actually want the whole storage unit organized but instead was hoping to access three specific items: a couch, a dresser and a large flat screen TV. Easy enough, right? Well. Said furniture items were not only located in various areas of the 15×30 feet sized storage unit, they were covered in piles of shoes boxes (our client was a sneaker collector), clothing and other ephemera. We pulled out approximately 30 shoe boxes, four large contractor bags of clothing, two extra large plastics storage totes of items and ten or so other item receptacles until we finally uncovered the items. And from then on, the job was a piece of cake! Or so we thought. One of the three furniture items was a dresser. Once we uncovered it we discovered it was without drawers, a very important component. While all three items were approximately five to ten feet into the large storage unit, the three of us located the drawers alllll the way in the far back corner. The covered photo of this blog depicts our employee very carefully (and with permission from the client!) climbing atop piles of items to retrieve the drawers and hand them off to be placed inside their respective slots in the dresser. It was a sweaty, silly, interesting job but we completed it in record time, brought the items to the front of the storage unit for a family member of our clients to retrieve at a later date and Tetris’d everything else back in around them. We let the lovely client know that we do also offer moving services if they wanted us to take that off their hands as well! Hopefully he’ll contact us soon and we can take another project off of his hands. It was a fun, fairly easy and interesting job but we look forward to truly organizing someones storage unit soon.
